Parish Presbyterian was established in 2007 in the beautiful town of Franklin, Tennessee. It’s name conveys its vision for a parish-model ministry after the tradition of men like Thomas Chalmers. Over the years, Parish has grown significantly and continues to grow as a church-planting church characterized by Biblical worship, reliance on the ordinary means of grace, rootedness in God’s covenant and a deep desire to match word and deed.
With the purchase of new land, and the construction of new church facilities, Parish Presbyterian asked for a visual brand update that would reflect their vision and the history of God’s providence in the church. The final results included updated logo designs, illustrated emblems and a full visual brand guide, along with signage and print design.
It was an honor to be a part of the design process.
THE LOGO EXPLAINED
The four component parts of the Parish Cross represent the distinctives of Parish Presbyterian Church. First, Worship is central. Second, from Worship flows all of Christian life: Discipleship, Fellowship, Service and Mission. Third, God has brought this particular church together by His covenant of grace, which defines how we relate to Him and to one another. Fourth, Parish is to called to minister in Word and Deed in the particular time and place God has ordained, beginning at the Clovercroft property in Franklin, Tennessee.
PARISH DESIGN ELEMENTS
In addition to the main logo update, I developed additional submarks and components for a variety of applications and scale needs. These, and type hierarchies are designed to function on a clean grid to maintain clarity, and beautiful and functional arrangement.
For consistency of brand visuals, the designs are oriented on a grid.
Typography and type hierarchies were included in this project.
